I’ve partnered with Rock Around The Block because they stock a solid range of pond gear that I use in my own builds.
For pumps, I personally use the PondMax range — they’re reliable, and the low voltage options come with extendable cables which makes setup a lot easier.
When it comes to liners, I like that they stock different thicknesses of EPDM. As a general guide:
- 0.8mm is fine if you’re not placing rock directly on the liner
- 1.14mm is a better option if you’re stacking rock and gravel on top
I’d always recommend using underlayment as well to protect your liner.
If you’re unsure about anything, give them a call — Matt is very helpful and will point you in the right direction.
