From time to time, I choose a real pond scenario and turn it into a public, educational design walkthrough video on the Ozponds YouTube channel.
What this is
This is a chance to submit a pond idea or scenario that I may use as an example in a future video.
If your scenario is selected, I’ll:
- Walk through how I’d approach that type of pond
- Explain the trade-offs, priorities, and common mistakes
- Focus on principles, not product lists
The goal is to help people understand how to think about ponds — not just what to buy.
What this isn’t
- It’s not a custom pond design
- It’s not 1-on-1 advice
- I can’t reply to submissions individually
If your scenario is chosen, it will appear publicly as a video.
Section: What to submit
When you submit, all I’m looking for is a rough idea, such as:
- The kind of pond or water feature you’re thinking about
- Where you’re located (country or climate)
- The main thing you’re unsure about right now
That’s it.
Submit a pond scenario
Submissions are reviewed periodically.
Section: If you don’t want to wait
If you’d rather design your pond straight away, I’ve documented the exact framework I use in my own ponds.
The Pond Formulas Blueprint explains:
- How I think about pond layout, flow, and filtration
- The numbers I personally use when designing my ponds
- How to adapt the same principles to different pond types
It’s the same approach I use in these walkthrough videos — just laid out step by step so you can apply it yourself.
