Below are some of the products that I have personally found helpful to me in maintaining my ponds.
Some of the links are affiliate links, that means if you make a purchase I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.
Skimming Net
A cheap pool skimming net is one of my favourite bits of kit for maintaining a pond.
I use mine all the time in my intake bays and to scoop up floating debris. The fine mesh allows you to scoop up really small particles unlike proper pond nets.
Pond Shark Net
This is my favourite pond net. It’s got a nice deep net that lets you scoop up a lot of debris.
The handle is durable and extendable. It’s got some “teeth” built into the net which is handy for removing stubborn algae.
Pond Vacuums
If you have a decent sized pond it might be worth investing in a pond vac.
I prefer the types that have two pumps and will empty as you vacuum. Some of the cheaper models will shut off to empty and you need to wait.
Sludge/ Muck eating bacteria
If you are really lazy or the pond is too large to be able to manually remove the build up of debris you might like to try sludge eating bacteria.
Keep in mind these are slow working and need to be used continuously to be effective, even then prevention is better than cure.
